Daxon is from a world called Fashuna. There are eight realms of existence on Fashuna. The eight realms of existence are like alternate versions of his world, but they are more accurately different places for the living and dead to exist. The living dwell in the first realm. It is the realm of the living and only the living can exist here or more accurately only beings with bodies can exist here. The eighth realm is just the opposite, it is the realm of the dead and only the dead can exist there or more accurately only spirits can exist there. The realms between the first realm and the eighth realm both living and dead can exist. There are exceptions. It is possible for realms to overlap in some places so a living person could be in the eighth realm and the seventh realm at the same time.

When a person dies their body remains here in the first realm, but their spirit moves on to one of the other realms. Which realm they move on to is determined by what kind of life they lived. Most people end up in realm four or five, but those who lived evil lives end up in the realm eight. Travel between realms can be done by both living and dead if they know how.

Magic comes from outside any realm of existence. Between the eight realms of existence flows streams of magical energy that holds each realm in place and keep them separated. These spaces are called realm gaps. It is not possible as far as anyone knows to actually enter a realm gap, but it is possible to guide magic from them.

Realm gaps exist mainly to keep the realms separated, but that does not explain the reason they have so much magical energy flowing thru them. The realms could simply be separated by empty space, but the realm gaps are not empty. The magical energy flows within the gaps like a river though the countryside. Some streams do keep the realms separated. Other streams touch various forces of nature. But the most common stream is the life stream. It keeps all living things alive. The life stream branches out and touches every living thing to sustain what we call a life flow. Life flows are very tiny, only as thick as a strand of hair, but it is enough to keep a spirit connected to a body.

There are other types of magical streams flowing within the realm gaps, many of which we don't know what they do. Since we don't know what most of them do we leave them alone and only guide magic from the streams that separate the realm gaps. We don't mess with the life streams because we don't want to accidentally drain it too much and kill some one.

It is the goal of the Wizards to protect, teach and create peace though all the nations of Fashuna. They do not side with any nation, even a nation they may have come from themselves. When two nations go to war the wizards will try to help them resolve the disagreement without going to battle. The wizards try to steer all the nations and races of Fashuna towards uniting against the various evils roaming the world. First and foremost is the threat of a race called the Hetugo which has been ravaging Fashuna for several hundred years.
